Books and Conversation

It seems like yesterday these books were the thing, right. This was it growing up, right. There was nothing like a fresh box of crayons to go with your brand new coloring book. When we were younger we got them for our birthdays, holidays or just because. In our household, we’d always find a couple of these gift wrapped under our Christmas Tree. Now with coloring apps on our phones, they maybe going out of style. It depends on who you ask though. You do know that there’s adult coloring books for us too and that’s trending big all over the world right now. Many local families still color after dinner as a family. Many Pre-k and kindergarten classes around town are still using coloring books in their classrooms and that’s a good thing. It introduces children to creativity, colors and designs. It also helps with coordination by teaching to color between the highlighted lines. It also teaches children how to share. They’ll get one side of the coloring book while their best friend has the other side and you take turns sharing the crayons. This life skills are priceless and we carry them for life. It’s also a good way to keep our little ones entertained. This is an easy, inexpensive idea to keep them off their phones and tables. A good distraction from in front of the tv, too. Coloring books also comes in a variety of cool assortments. There’s animated, movie and seasonal themed coloring books for everyone!
