Good Morning, Baltimore!
Today’s topic,“Books about life in Baltimore City.” This particular book stood out among all the rest! Typically, Biographies and Memoirs aren’t on my favorites genre list. “Where tomorrow’s aren’t promised” seems like a fantastic exception. It is available on kindle and in our local bookstores, neighbors. Check your local library to see if they have it. It is written by Los Angeles Laker Star, Carmelo Anthony with D. Watkins. Both writers grew up in our Baltimore City basketball courts and on our streets ! An inspirational memoir about Carmelo’s life growing up in The Red Hook housing projects and Baltimore. A story of survival and hope. What drew me to this book was that we get to go behind the scenes with Carmelo Anthony! A candid look at our Baltimore Native through his eyes! His coming-of-age in our Baltimore rec centers, schools and our Murphy Homes public housing projects. A young promising basketball star that overcomes difficult circumstances and tragedies! If anyone has read this awesome book already, please let your neighbors know. It has been added to my to be read list. Have you read another interesting book based in our city, neighbors? All genres and children’s books are welcome here and always appreciated! If so, please share the the title and author’s name in the comment section below.

“With These Bags On My Shoulders” by Sparkle Riley. Available on Amazon.
It’s a great, transparent Urban Fiction Romance centered around Belair-Edison and Monument Street. A Southern Belle escapes from her troubled past and moves to the east side of Baltimore City to find love!
