Pumpkin Wednesday!

Good morning and Happy Wednesday!
We are just days into Autumn and some of us already have pumpkin fever! Did you know that October 26th is National Pumpkin Day? Are you celebrating with a scoop of pumpkin ice-cream? There’s something spectacular about orange pumpkins! Pumpkins also come in red, yellow and purple and even striped. A popular pumpkin used for desserts is called Cotton Candy Pumpkins. These sweet pumpkins weigh between 5 to 12 pounds. One surprising fact is that pumpkins don’t grow in Antarctica! Who remembers their class trip to our local pumpkin farms? The tall corn mazes, cute red barns or the world famous pony rides! I think everyone loves the tractor pulled hayride. How about fresh apple cider on a beautiful Autumn day? My family’s all-time  favorite is Weber’s Cider Mills Farm on 2526 Proctor Lane in Parkville, Maryland! It’s a family tradition that we look forward to every year! We looked forward to grandma’s delicious homemade pumpkin pies from scratch. Baked with apple butter! Thanksgiving dinner isn’t quite the same without that delicious pie! Family gatherings with Pumpkin Spice Lattes were the absolute best. Neighbors, what’s your favorite pumpkin dish and why? If you have exciting recipes, tips or anything pumpkin related, please share in the comment section below. Who would like to share special pumpkin arts and craft ideas for kids? If so, please share for our families below! Do you recommend a local pumpkin farm to our community? Please tell your neighbors the name and location!
