New changes in our check-out lane!

Good Morning Neighbors!
Today is Thursday, October 7, 2021. Your community wants to hear from you today! Before you head out to the market this week there’s something that you should know! Our topic of the day is grocery bags and will you have to pay for them? Neighbors have you noticed anything at our check-out lanes lately? Many local residents in our community were surprised to find out that their plastic grocery bags have been replaced with brown paper bags without handles this week. Was this new change convenient  for you and your family? The new signs are located right at the cash register. Customers will also have the option to purchase reusable cloth bags for just fifty cents per bag. You can also bring your own bag of choice. Were you surprised to find that your favorite supermarket will no longer carry the free plastic bags? If you haven’t heard, The Comprehensive Bag Reduction Act has started in Baltimore City. By providing brown paper bags, we are improving the environment of our city! At only five cents per bag! For most of our neighbors this isn’t anything new. Our local Aldi, Save-a-lot and Price Rite Supermarkets have been charging for their plastic bags for years. What do you think about this new plan in Baltimore City? Is this a good idea? Do you support it why or why not? Will this new change make a difference in our community? If so, please tell your neighbors why. For those that have used these paper bags, how was your experience with them? Please share your thoughts and concerns in the comment section below.
