Happy Friday, November 5,2021. Another beautiful weekend in Baltimore City is upon us! The morning air is frosty but still doable for most of our residents. It is a perfect crisp morning to rake up your leaves. Yes, it’s time because our grass is covered in an array of glistening earth tone leaves. They were gorgeous a few weeks ago but now it’s another Autumn task. It’s not just a chore for your front and backyards. Our entire city is sprinkled with tangerine, crisp green and burnt crimson colored leaves. Everyone has noticed our beautiful Maple Oak and Dogwood Trees throughout our city just to name a few. Our Maryland State Tree is White Oak! If you are ecstatic about our trees you are in luck! There is even a plan on the table to plant more trees to create an Urban Forest. You can find a tree in the right away of our streets. Does tree lined streets benefit our city? Most local residents think so for a variety of reasons. The advantages are very welcoming into our local communities. Our trees remove hundreds of harsh pollutants per year. Our newly created Urban Forest is also responsible for absorbing rain water and carbon dioxide. So, how does that measure up in our city? In the summer, our trees can provide shade to our buildings, streets and city parking lots. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
