Baltimore City Gardens
If you love beautiful, colorful flowers, this is the article for you. Especially for our beginner gardeners such as myself. Spring gardens are pretty spectacular and make great additions to our lawns or even porches. We’ve seen garden pots along windowsills and even hanging pots. With any DIY project it’s going to take time and patience. You’ll want to dedicate some time to your gorgeous, colorful garden. Many local residents have no clue when and where to start gardening. Luckily for us, there’s online instructions and how-to videos available. Here at BBS, we prefer books over everything! We have a few exciting titles to share with our reading community to help everyone get started. Most of our selections can be bought conveniently on Amazon. However, our local flea markets and thrift shops are also stocked with gardening books and can be bought practically for free! Just remember that when choosing these books there are a few things to consider if you decide to browse elsewhere of course. One factor is the book’s experience level. You want to make sure your buying what’s easier for you. Also, decide if you’re going to be gardening in or outdoors. Finally, think about the types of plants you want to grow. An interesting title that we came across is Floret Farms Discovering Dahlias: A Guide To Growing and Arranging Magnificent Blooms by Erin Benzakein. Another great option is Beth Chatto’s Garden Notebook. To enlighten your gardening task, we recommend these two, awesome titles. Green thumb lovers will love The Low Maintenance Garden by Graham Rose. Or the trendy, What’s Wrong With My Plant? (And how do I fix it?) by David Deardorff. The next two are so creatively and artistically Devine that we had to mention these next two titles. The best of both worlds. A splendid combination of paintings and gardens. The Impressionist Garden by Derek Fell. He creatively linked rich paintings to gardens while offering inspirational ideas. Another great book to check out this weekend is Creative Garden Design: A Book of Ideas by Marianne Majeeus. Neighbors, feel free to add your favorite gardening books in our comment selection below, please. We would love gardening advice and tips directly from you!
