Morning Delays!

Baltimore City- Many local residents in our area received phone calls this morning from their high schooler. The issue is trending and have been posted all over social media. Our local public schools is causing a stir among students, families and school staff and here’s why. If you’ve been following BCPS lately, you know there’s a great concern for our students safety. With recent incidents popping up all over our city, the local districts decided to take action. Your teen’s high school have started having your student walk through a metal detector before entering school. Many residents are divided on this protocol because it causes students to be very late for class. The other concern is that students can just leave their weapons outside on school grounds and still will be able to carry out acts of violence. So these parents are questioning if this measure is even worth it. Many students and their families were also very disappointed that they had to wait thirty to forty minutes in a long line. The students are also concerned about possible weather makers that could occur while waiting. Such as rain, a thunderstorm or extremely hot temperatures while waiting outside. Residents are undecided about this safety measure and BBS wants to hear from you this morning. Do you have ideas to improve your students wait time or have a better solution to this growing problem? Please let your school district know how they can improve and make it convenient if necessary. If you agree with our schools re-operating their metal detectors, let us know in our comment section below!
